Platter matters

Entertaining guests can be a bit stressful sometimes, but the perfect platter doesn’t need to be.

There are some simple techniques that we have used to turn the ol’ cheese board into a platter to impress all your guests.

Here are some tips:

Make it colourful

Platters with heaps of colour are visually appealing

Make everything easy to handle 

Cut up the veggies and fruits into small sizes, from dippable crunchy carrots to small slices of watermelon. Make it easy to eat with one hand.

Add some height

Grab some tumblers to add breadsticks, add a jar of quince paste, stack your vegies high

Put complimentary things together

Add the hummus with the healthy stuff, add the quince paste with the complimentary cheese, make it easy for your guests to make the selections.

Add cutlery, serving spoons, cheese and pate knives

This is an easy win, get snacks into faces easier with the right tools.

Go Big 

I have a huge plater I use for most occasions. A little too big for just a Friday night cheese session, but great for parties.

Choose Quality

Where possible, choose quality veggies and fruits, cheese and accompaniments, makes for a better platter overall when everything is fresh

Mostly, have fun with it.

Buy some things for your platter that you know and love and try some new ingredients, they may become your new favourites.
