Create your own Floral Sculpture with our DIY for Hanging Flowers.

Hanging Flowers

Adding a floral touch doesn’t have to be a little vase on the table. Why not create your own piece with hanging floral sculpture with our easy DIY: Create your own Hanging Flowers for your next soiree.

  • Hoola Hoop
  • Floral Tape
  • Wire
  • Ribbon
  • Greenery (I collected some Spinning gum and Monstera from my garden)
  • Long stem flowers
  • Scissors
  • Double sided tape or Sello dots

Here’s how:

Gather all your supplies, wrap your hoola hoop with Ribbon.

Lay out the hoola on the floor, add a ribbon to the top and lay out your long greenery. Ensure you have even coverage from the top rolling the branches from the top draping down.

When you are happy with the general layout, start wrapping the branches at their base and attach the branches securely. Try not to squash the leaves and stick to just wrapping the wood/branch.

Use this floral hoop as your base.

Depending on your desired sculptural ideal add layers and layers to this base. Start by laying out your next layer, beginning with the largest flowers and leaves and moving to the smallest ensuring that they intertwine as you go.

When you are happy with the layout, take a photo. This will help you remember what it looks like before you start assembling your sculpture of Hanging Flowers

Grab your ribbon handle and attach this to the top of your structure or ladder and hang somewhere you can reach so you can start the assembly process. For heavy branches use wire to attach to the hoop or floral tape for the lighter flowers.

When you are done, hang your sculpture where all your guests can enjoy your handy work.
