Planning the perfect Australia Day Lunch
Although a sensitive subject in Australia at the moment, Australia Day celebrations can be a chance to bring together some great friends and family to celebrate this wonderful and free country we are blessed to live in.
Instead of the messy meat pie and burnt meat off a charred barbie, we thought we would class it up a little. We pulled together a great lunch event for the whole family to enjoy.
By combining some of our Australian classics with a twist, mixed our favourite Australian natives and tart-ing up some other boring cakes to make your guests say “strewth”… However you choose to celebrate your day, we at Venue Insider wish you and yours a happy and Safe Australia day.
Gaytime Pash Smash
Grab a spoon and enjoy this tart and sweet treat
Game Set Match
Match your Australian Cheese platter with Australian Sparkling, Prosecco or a Gin.
Arras Australian Sparkling (Tasmania), Brown Brothers Prosecco (Adelaide), Four Pillars Gin (Victoria)
Lamington Sponge Cake
This sponge cake has been tarted up with an extra layer of Chocolate Ganache and a wattle garland. You will struggle to stop at one slice.
Aussie Kids are… Adorable.
Do a little face painting and turn your little rugrats into koalas.
One way to avoid the old pavlova origin fight a with a lamington Trifle (obviously Australia are the inventors of such an awesome dessert). A wee twist on a traditional trifle we turned lamingtons, Australian Raspberry jam, cream and chocolate mouse into a delicious dessert.
Magic Meat Pie
Australia day wouldn’t be Australia day without a least a meat pie. Why not grab a family size pie to share with the whole family.
